Student visas are issued for travelers whose purpose is to study in the Dominican Republic and who have already been accepted by a Dominican educational institution. This visa MUST be renewed each year for as long as the applicant fulfills the conditions required.
Any person who can legally travel or reside in the United States, Canada and the European Union (including the United Kingdom) does not need a visa to visit this country for 30 days or less. If you are planning on travelling for more than 30 days in one of our programs, you are required to apply for a Student Visa regardless of the country of origin.

Applications must include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Original passport and one photocopy of passport information and signature page. The passport must be signed, valid for 6 months beyond stay in Dominican Republic, with at least one blank passport page available for Dominican Republic visa stamp. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Dominican Republic visas.

One recent 2 x 2 passport photograph, in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
Clear, color photocopies of any previous Dominican visas or residence cards (if apply).
A letter of acceptance from the educational institution in the Dominican Republic specifying the level of studies to be performed and the duration of the program. The Consulate requires either the original letter or a high quality, color copy. (Provided by Dominext).
Local , State Police or FBI Clearance for all applicants 18 years of age or older. Report or clearance must be notarized, translated into Spanish, and both the original and the translation apostilled at the State Capital.
Medical Certificate showing a diagnosis of the overall health of the applicant, indicating if he or she suffers from any contagious disease. This document must be notarized, translated into Spanish and both the original and the translation Apostilledat at the State Capital.
Proof of Sufficient Funds:
Proof of financial means in the form of bank letter and statement, letter of employment or notarized letter from the parents stating financial responsibility.
An original or color copy of a letter of intent to the Consulate from the applicant. The letter should include the following:
